FrostBike
The birthplace for most of the world’s greatest concepts is at a large table at a favorite bar where, after a night of consumption of libations, those forming the concepts are at their creative peak. FrostBike is no exception. FrostBike was conceived at the Atomic Cowboy after a few hours of consumption of concept liberating beverages. I will say one thing. None of those present had any idea that such a concept would rocket to the success that FrostBike achieved.
Frostbike is a call to conquer. What are we conquering? Mother Nature. Cold temps and snow. Any pansy can ride on a 70 degree sunny day but who is willing to ride in sleet and 20 degrees? Therein lies the challenge of FrostBike. Frostbike separates the girls from the women. Frostbike challenges you to ride no matter what the conditions. You ride because you want to ride. The conditions become secondary.
What is in it for you?
All of the answers to life’s burning questions are answered….
What is the best base layer?, Who has the best price on this base layer?, Who has the best price on Clif bars?, Who is she dating and why?, What training program are you on? Do you like it? How much does it cost? What is the best wind resistant layer? Sram vs. Shimano…105 vs. Ultegra… synthetic vs. wool. Such topics are discussed on a regular basis as you ride and the opportunity to gain an expert opinion is there. These insights are invaluable. After all, life is too short to waist time on the wrong componentry or base layers.
Did I mention that a delicious brunch and fabulous coffee are served up at Velocity Cafe after the rides? Mmmmm.
If you want to know the answers to these questions and bask in the glory of completing a 4 week series of riding in whatever Mother Nature has to throw at you, FrostBike is the series for you. It is truly empowering. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
Your partner in cycling no matter what the thermometer or barometer says,
